The M606 and the M62
The M606 is a short motorway spur from junction 26 of the M62 (the Chain Bar interchange) up to the edge of the city. It's busy at peak times and ends at a large roundabout. Hartshead Moor services on the M62 is close by and a useful landmark. If you break down on the M606, get as far left as you can and behind the barrier if it's safe.
The inner ring road and city centre
The inner ring road runs round the city centre, with steep approaches from every direction, because Bradford is built on hillsides. Clutches, brakes and engines work hard here, especially in older cars and loaded vans. If you stop on a steep road, leave the car in gear (or Park) with the handbrake on and the wheels turned to the kerb.
