The ring road
Coventry's inner ring road circles the city centre on an elevated loop with junctions only a few hundred metres apart. Traffic joining and leaving has very little space to merge, so a breakdown here can quickly become dangerous. If your car starts to struggle, take the next exit if you can. If it stops on the ring road, put your hazards on straight away and, if it isn't safe to get out, stay in the car with your seatbelt on and call 999. Tell us which junction number you're near.
The A45, A46 and the motorways
The A45 runs east to west across the south of the city towards Birmingham Airport, the A46 forms an eastern bypass towards Warwick, and the M6 passes to the north with the M69 heading off towards Leicester. Corley services on the M6 is a useful landmark. On these fast dual carriageways, get as far left as you can and behind the barrier if it's safe.
Around the city
The Coventry Building Society Arena, the university campuses and the hospital at Walsgrave all bring heavy traffic at certain times. If you break down near one of them on a busy day, tell us so we can plan the way in.
Stuck on the ring road? Don't try to cross the carriageway on foot. Stay with the car if it isn't safe to get out, keep your hazards on, and call. We'll tell you the safest way to wait.

We cover the whole city and the surrounding area, including Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Bedworth and Rugby. Call with your postcode or a nearby landmark.
