Breakdown Recovery on the M11

The M11 links east London with Stansted Airport and Cambridge. It's a commuter road at the London end and an airport road in the middle. If you've broken down anywhere along it, call us with the nearest junction and your direction.

From £125 · 24/7 · often with you in about 30 minutes (depends on location and traffic)

From the North Circular to Cambridge

The M11 starts at South Woodford in east London, where it meets the A406 North Circular, and runs north for about 55 miles past Loughton, the M25 at junction 6, Harlow, Stansted Airport and Bishop's Stortford, ending just north of Cambridge at the A14. It's shorter and less congested than most London motorways, but the southern end and the stretch around the M25 still queue at peak times.

Stansted Airport (junction 8)

Junction 8 serves Stansted Airport and Bishop's Stortford, with Birchanger Green services right by the junction. Many breakdowns here involve cars that won't start in an airport car park after a trip away. Tell us which car park and roughly where you parked, and we'll tell you honestly whether a jump start is likely to do it.

Towards Cambridge

North of Stansted the motorway runs through open countryside with long gaps between junctions, past Saffron Walden and Duxford to Cambridge. Here the driver location signs on the verge and the last junction you passed are the best way to tell us where you are.

If you break down on the M11: get onto the hard shoulder or as far left as you can, hazards on, and if it's safe get out by the left-hand door and wait behind the barrier. If you can't get out safely, stay in the car with your seatbelt on and call 999. Then call us with the junctions either side of you.
