Roadside Assistance Aberdeen
Not every problem needs a tow. For faults that can potentially be sorted on the spot — a flat battery, a puncture, being locked out, or running out of fuel — we'll try to get you moving again where you are.
Fixes that don't need a tow
Roadside assistance is for the problems that can, in principle, be sorted where your vehicle is standing — no loading, no trailer, no trip to a garage required. It sits apart from breakdown recovery, which is what happens once we know the vehicle genuinely can't be made driveable on the spot. Plenty of call-outs turn out to be one of these quicker fixes, so it's always worth describing the problem and letting us judge which service fits.
What roadside assistance typically covers
- Jump starts for a flat battery.
- Tyre changes, where a roadworthy spare and the right tools are available.
- Lockout assistance if you're locked out of your own vehicle.
- Running out of fuel, with the right fuel type brought to you.
How it works
Call and describe exactly what's happening — what the vehicle is doing, or not doing, and anything you've already tried. We'll talk you through what to expect and send someone out equipped to deal with it at the roadside. If, once we're there, it turns out the fault is more serious than first thought, we won't leave you stuck: we'll move straight into recovery instead.
Safety first. If you're stopped on a fast or busy road, don't attempt any roadside fix yourself, and don't stand between your vehicle and moving traffic. Get well clear, keep hazard lights on, and call us before doing anything else.
Roadside assistance vs breakdown recovery
The dividing line is simple: if the vehicle can be made safely driveable where it's stopped, that's roadside assistance. If it can't — a fault that needs a workshop, or damage that means it shouldn't be driven — that's a job for breakdown recovery. You don't need to work out which one applies before calling; just explain what's wrong and we'll take it from there.
Roadside Assistance FAQs
Can you jump-start my car at the roadside?
In most cases, yes, if the battery is simply flat rather than faulty. We'll attempt a jump start on the spot, and if that gets you going again there's no need for a tow.
What if you can't fix the problem on the spot?
If the fault can't be resolved at the roadside — for example the battery won't hold charge, or the tyre can't be safely changed — we'll move straight into breakdown recovery and take the vehicle to a garage or your chosen destination.
Do you carry fuel for cars that have run out?
We can bring a small amount of the right fuel to get you to the nearest fuel station. Tell us the fuel type your vehicle takes when you call so we bring the correct one.
