The A63 and Castle Street

The M62 ends west of Hull and becomes the A63, which runs along the waterfront and through the city centre as Castle Street on its way to the docks. It carries both city traffic and lorries heading for the port, and roadworks are common. If you break down on it, put your hazards on, get to safety, and tell us which direction you were heading and the nearest junction or landmark.

The docks and the ferry

Ferries sail from Hull to Rotterdam, and a lot of port traffic uses the east of the city. If your car won't start in the ferry queue or on arrival, tell the port staff first. Once it's outside the terminal, call us. If the car has broken down on the continent instead, see repatriation from the Netherlands.

The Humber Bridge

The Humber Bridge carries the A15 across the estuary to Lincolnshire, west of the city. It's long and exposed to the wind. If you break down on it, put your hazards on and stay safe until the bridge staff or traffic officers can help. They deal with breakdowns on the bridge itself. Call us once the car is off the bridge.

Ferry traveller? If you've broken down just before a sailing, contact the ferry company about your booking and leave the car to us. We'll get it to a garage or back home.

Around Hull

We cover the whole city and East Yorkshire, including Cottingham, Hessle, Beverley, Bridlington and Goole, and across the bridge into north Lincolnshire.
