Car Repatriation from Italy to the UK
A road trip to the Italian lakes or Tuscany is a long way from home, and so is a breakdown there. If your car can't make it back, we collect it in Italy and bring it to your home or garage in the UK.
A long journey home
From Milan the drive back to the Channel is well over 1,000 km, and from Rome or further south it's a lot more, crossing the Alps through Switzerland or France. If your car breaks down or is damaged in Italy and repairs would take a while, bringing it home to your own garage often makes more sense than waiting.
Where we collect from
We collect from all over Italy, including Milan, Turin, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Verona, Venice, Florence and Tuscany, Rome and the south. The car can be at a garage, a pound, a hotel or a holiday rental, as long as someone can give access.
Watch out for ZTL zones: many Italian historic centres have limited traffic zones (ZTL) with cameras, and driving in without permission brings a fine, even for foreign cars. If you're driving a hire car home after a breakdown, check your route.
How it works
Send us the location, the make and model, whether it runs, and the UK delivery address. We quote one fixed price for the whole journey, collect the car on a transporter and bring it back across the Alps and the Channel.
Italy Repatriation FAQs
How long does it take to bring a car back from Italy?
It's a long journey, and timing depends on the location. We'll give you an expected collection and delivery time with the quote.
Can my European breakdown cover pay for this?
Many policies include repatriation if a repair would take several days. Check with your insurer. If you need to arrange it yourself, we'll give you a written quote.
Can you collect from a holiday rental?
Yes, as long as someone can give access and hand over the keys. Send us the exact address and a contact.
Car Stuck in Italy?
Send us where the car is, the make and model and your UK address. We’ll come back to you with a fixed price.
